Assignments: “I see and I forget; I hear and I remember; I do and I understand”
Submitting assignments: options: hard copy or electronic file your choice…
If you submit an electronic file, please do it using “Box”. This is a free, on-line file sharing system run within the University system.
I will invite each of you to share an individual folder in Box with me.
I will grade the homework and place comments in your folder. If necessary
you can resubmit corrected homeworks in the folder.
To facilitate my grading, please label your assignments by assignment #, your name, date, redo (if that is the case) e.g. #1Smith 9-12-13
1. Must be handed in on time: class time the day it is due
2. Only 1 regrade: submit within 2 weeks of receiving graded assignment
3. Must be neat and legible
4. Use appropriate number of significant figures.
5. Numbers must have units…almost no exception
Do assignment before intervening lecture so that you can ask questions
and hand in the final assignment at lecture time when it is due. Assignments are worth a great
deal…take them seriously…they are the best
preparation for exams.
