BIOLOGY 106 - HINTS FOR ACADEMIC SUCCESS:

1. Attend ALL lectures and laboratories!

2. Copy your lecture notes into a second notebook within 24 hours of the lectures.

3. Read over carefully, but DO NOT memorize, the assigned material in your textbook. Use the textbook to clarify and complement the lecture notes.

4. Before an examination, concentrate your study efforts on the lecture notes.

5. If you have difficulty taking notes, taking examinations, identifying important concepts, etc., visit Learning Assistance Services (Room 2201, Shoemaker Building X4-7693). The LAS staff offers a variety of painless, helpful workshops! Descriptions of their programs and schedules are available in the laboratory. Pick one up!!!

6. There is no substitute for effort. You should be spending an average of 8 to 12 hours per week outside of class working on BSCI 106 material and assignments.

7. Please DO NOT hesitate to ask for assistance. We are here to help you, the students. After all, you pay the bills and justify the existence of the University. Get your money's worth!
