Research Interests

I am broadly interested in studying the potential impacts of Bt corn tissue exposure and consumption on non-target aquatic invertebrates such as caddisflies (Order Trichoptera). Specifically, I aim to determine the effectiveness of biopolymer nanoparticle encapsulation as a method of oral delivery of toxic compounds to shredder caddisfly larvae (genus Pycnopsyche). The results would allow me to assess the feasibility of toxin consumption in shredders and the effects on their health and survival.
