Message from the Chair
Greetings from the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry! The winter chill is already upon us, and this newsletter offers warming news of your favorite department and its alumni.
I invite you to read about important accomplishments in the stories featured below. I also want to take this opportunity to recognize faculty members and students who helped make this a great semester, hosting events that included the Machine Learning in Chemistry Workshop, the Young Researchers Conference, the Professional Development Networking Night, and science cafes. Special thanks to Assistant Professors Pratyush Tiwary and Osvaldo Gutierrez and our student groups—the GSO, ADSE, NOBCCHE, ACS, AXE and ABSMB—for organizing these events that inspired and brought us together as a community.
Have you been back to campus recently? Please join us on Saturday, April 25 for Maryland Day to see how things have changed and to preview the designs for our stunning new chemistry building wing for research and training in the molecular sciences!
~Janice
