Factors Influencing Restoration Success
As part of the Paynter Lab’s ongoing effort to improve the success of oyster restoration in Maryland, the lab conducts experiments to try and understand some of the primary factors influencing oyster restoration in the Chesapeake Bay. These projects are conducted by Paynter Lab staff with the help of students and are an important part of our lab’s activities. Also, much of our work is done in collaboration with researchers at the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science's Horn Point Oyster Hatchery.
The factors we have explored so far include:
We hope that these experiments will add to the growing body of experimental knowledge about the success of restored oyster populations in Maryland. To learn more about these projects, contact us at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
