About the Event
The Center for Medical Innovations in Extended Reality (MIXR), a National Science Foundation (NSF)-supported Industry-University Cooperative Research Center (IUCRC), invites you to attend its third annual Industry Advisory Board (IAB) meeting. This event presents a significant opportunity for industry and federal agencies to learn about MIXR’s current and proposed projects, and engage in conversations to set MIXR’s future direction, aligning them with your organization’s strategies and missions. The public section of the meeting will consist of updates on current MIXR projects in cybersickness, studies of latency effects on procedure performance, collaborative simulation platforms, and standardizing extended reality (XR) integration into health care facilities, along with proposals for future work. It will also include poster presentations from our institutions’ students and a networking happy hour.
About MIXR
As an NSF-supported IUCRC, MIXR’s mission is to accelerate the impact of evaluation methodologies for assessing XR applications in medicine through close relationships between industry innovators, world-class academic teams and government leaders. We are exploring XR and machine learning for public health, medical education, clinical care, interventional procedures and therapeutics. Current MIXR industry and government participants include the FDA, Sony, MediView, Cook Advanced Technologies, the Air Force Research Laboratory, Cleveland Clinic and Microsoft.
