Each
spring semester, I am involved in teaching Eukaryotic
Cell Biology, an upper-division laboratory course
that has a typical enrollment approaching 100 students.
I have attached to this page two items from the course
that can be viewed by pressing on the highlighted text.
Eukaryotic Cell Biology Laboratory Schedule
During the fall semester, I am involved in several
different courses, one of which centers on the optical
principles that underlie image formation with the light
microscope. I have attached to this page a general
purview of imaging with the light microscope. The text
is designed to provide individuals with information
on how the microscopes work, without excessive detail.
For those who need more information about optical theory,
there are many published sources of information that
will expand significantly beyond my text pages. Press
here to switch to Principles
of Light Microscopy.
An important part of my research efforts in the laboratory
center on mechanisms that regulate progression through
mitosis. Mitosis is a dynamic process that is process
that is best viewed in living cells. Press here to
switch to my page on
Mitosis.
