Grasslands Plantation is located in the heart of Marylands Eastern Shore a few miles from historic Chestertown, Maryland. Founded in 1706, on the shores of the Chester River, Chestertown serves as the seat of Kent County. In the past two centuries this river-front town has maintained its Colonial character. It is ideal for strolling along brick sidewalks past historic Georgian mansions and charming Colonial storefronts. Antique stores, gourmet restaurants, art galleries and seafood markets are accessible within a short drive from Grasslands.

Small boat sailing, crabbing, and fishing are available on the Chester River and large boat activity is available 12 miles away on the Chesapeake Bay, one of the most picturesque gateways to the Atlantic. Tens of thousands of geese and waterfowl flock on the ponds and river during the fall and winter.

Even though you are surrounded by the rural landscape of the Eastern Shore, you are within easy reach of major urban centers such as Baltimore, Washington and Philadelphia and all that they offer.
